Foldables by Studio Ochi — A new collection of layouts that let you experience 3D in real life.

We are creating various models for paper crafts, paper sculpture and DIY pieces in different sizes for decoration, but mainly as a great hobby for you to spend hours putting together.

Here are some of the guidelines to follow through all our foldables pieces.

Basic Elements

Islands

Independent elements with multiple faces, flaps and directions.

Flaps

Faces inside islands colored in gray, they indicate where to apply the adhesive.

Arrows

Tells you where external flaps get together with the island you are on.

Indicators

Island Number

Indicates the island’s main number, later shortened as I1:, I2:, I3:…

Flap Indicator

Placed inside the flap, they will tell you where to go and join with other islands.

Edge Indicator

Indicates that island’s edge number. Flap Inciators will bring you here.

Direction Lines/Edges

Valley-fold

. _ . _ . _ .

Means you should fold the same as, let’s say a book and the guides sholud stay inside.

Hill-fold

_ _ _ _ _

Opposite to valley, this line folds outwards. Fold these lines to leave it’s indicators under the hill and inside the shape.

Cut

Mainly these ones outline the islands, cut all these but save for later guidance, just in case.

Steps

1.

Cut Islands

Carefully cut all the islands with numbers and flaps included.

2.

Fold according

Fold all flaps and edges with numbers and indicators to the inside of the shape.

3.

Glue together

Flaps indicate where to apply adhesive one at the time, not multiple.
